Mozart Symphony Orchestra - 'The Snowman' in Concert
The Mozart Symphony Orchestra performs the timeless festive classic, 'The Snowman'
Monday 21 December, 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30
Sheldonian Theatre
A new Christmas tradition started in Oxford last year - the Mozart Symphony Orchestra gave it’s first Oxford performance of the timeless classic, The Snowman, for which the film is shown on the big screen with live symphony orchestra providing the soundtrack, which famously includes the song made so famous by Aled Jones: ‘Walking in the air’. After three sell-out performances, they are back for 2026.
The concert will also feature Britain’s favourite bear in Paddington Bear’s first concert – a charming piece for narrator and orchestra that sees the lovable scamp rescued from Paddington station by the Brown family and taken to a concert – at the Royal Albert Hall!
Programme:
Blake: The Snowman (projected onto the large screen with live orchestral accompaniment)
Chappell: Paddington Bear’s first concert
Performers:
Alice Mackenzie soprano
Philip Mackenzie narrator and conductor
Mozart Symphony Orchestra
Malcolm Forbes-Peckham conductor
