Oakeshott Lectures: Carl Benjamin – The Postliberal Future

In the second Oakeshott Lecture of 2026 one of Britain's most incisive political commentators, Carl Benjamin, will discuss the historic failures of the British right and outline a postliberal vision for the future. Following the lecture he will be joined onstage by former Conservative Spad, James Price, for a public discussion. 

Carl Benjamin is the founding director of Lotueaters.com and runs the prominent YouTube channel Sargon of Akkad. He is a philosophy graduate of Birkbeck College, University of London and has built up a massive public following for his coverage of current affairs, political philosophy and popular culture. He lives in Wiltshire with his wife and children. 

James Price is an author, Research Fellow at the Centre for Policy Studies, and former President of the Oxford Union. He served as a Senior Special Adviser across five departments in the last Conservative Government. He holds and MA from the University of Oxford and an MSc from University College London, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts..
