Private Tours for Groups
Led by knowledgeable guides, our private tours bring the story of Sir Christopher Wren's architectural masterpiece to life, uncovering the ceremonial history of a building that has been at the heart of the University for more than 350 years.
After the tour, your group is welcome to take in the rest of the building at leisure.
30-Minute Auditorium Tour
Discover the University's ceremonial hall and admire Robert Streater's magnificent painted ceiling
60-Minute Extended Tour
On this extended tour, admire the innovative timber-beamed Old Printing Loft and panoramic views from the Cupola
Self-Led Group Visits
We also welcome groups of various sizes to explore the Sheldonian at your own pace, benefiting from concessionary ticket rates. Whether you are a small group of 15 or a large group of up to 400, our team will work with you to create a memorable visit. Larger parties may be split into smaller groups to ensure the best visitor experience.

- Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times
- Group visits and tours are available throughout the year, subject to the Sheldonian's operational schedule and University events - please book your visit in advance

Whilst our 30 minute tour offers step-free access, our 60 minute tour involves 114 steps to reach the Old Printing Loft and Cupola. When making an enquiry, please ensure you detail any group accessibility requirements in the enquiry form so that we can make adjustments to your visit.
